Through all of Holly’s endeavors, the constant motivator has been positively influencing young people. Relating to children is her passion! She continues to fulfill her passion by extending her writing talents to children’s books to provide learning through storytelling. As a first time author Holly hopes to be a successful contributor to the learning process through The Adventures of Remmington the Dog, her first book, which is due to be released in the summer of 2007. Reading these stories to children will allow them to join with Remy in learning the importance of practicing positive values.
In addition to her teaching career, she has always had a love for the theater, in particular children’s theater, which prompted her to found and operate a successful children’s theater company. Holly’s theater company filled a need for creative arts for children seven to fifteen years old. In both teaching and theater she has applied her writing talent to benefit children; in the world of education by creating curriculum; in the world of theater by writing the plays that her company performed. Ms. Burton has always had an affinity for art and began drawing and painting at a very young age. As a high school student, she received a number of awards for her artistic ability and received great recognition when her artwork was displayed in various museums throughout Northern California. Although she placed her love for art aside while pursuing her career in the legal field, her interest in art never subsided. Upon entering motherhood, Ms. Burton re-discovered her passion for art while painting artwork for her children’s nurseries.
